← Craft CounterPRIVACY POLICY

Your projects.
Your information.

Craft Counter is an iPhone row counter published by AiAdvisors, operated by Romuald Członkowski (“we”). This policy explains what the app stores on your iPhone, what leaves your phone only when you choose, and what we hold for you if you turn on cloud backup. It also covers this website. Where a feature is described as optional, nothing happens until you switch it on.

Effective date: September 15, 2026. The app’s planned release is October 1, 2026, subject to change.

The short version

On your iPhone

Craft Counter stores your project names, counts, repeat and target settings and recent history in the app’s private storage on your iPhone. History keeps the latest 1000 saved positions per project. Nothing in this local store is sent anywhere by the app on its own. Deleting the app from your iPhone can remove these local projects, so keep an exported copy or a completed cloud backup when you need an independent copy.

The app keeps one small local record for the trial timer and one for its own settings. Neither leaves your device.

Optional voice control

If you switch on voice control, the app uses Apple’s on-device English speech recognition on supported devices to listen for a counting phrase such as “next row”. iOS asks for microphone permission the first time you enable it, and Apple may download a language asset to your phone during first setup. Craft Counter does not store or upload microphone audio or recognized speech. Listening stops when you leave the counter or the app becomes inactive. You can turn voice control off at any time in the app or revoke microphone access in iOS Settings.

Files you export

A project export contains the project name, settings, counts and retained history. You choose where it goes in the iOS share sheet. Once a file is saved or shared to a destination you selected, it is outside the app’s control and this policy no longer applies to that copy. Importing a file always creates a separate new copy after validation; it never replaces an existing project.

If you choose to share a diagnostic summary with us when reporting a problem, the app shows you exactly what it contains first. Exported diagnostics exclude project content, project names, project identifiers and file paths.

Optional cloud backup

Cloud backup is off until you enable it, agree to backup and sign in with Apple. When it is on, the app periodically sends a copy of your projects to a backup service we operate on Microsoft Azure.

What is sent. Project names, settings, counts and retained history, as immutable backup copies. Photos and pattern files are not part of backup.

Identifiers we use. Your Apple account identifier from Sign in with Apple, an internal account identifier we assign, and a random app-installation identifier. These keep your copies separate from everyone else’s and let you recover them on another iPhone. We do not ask for your name or email address during sign-in.

Device and purchase checks. To enrol a phone and allow uploads, the service verifies Apple’s app-origin proof (App Attest) and your trial or Full Unlock purchase history through Apple. That check involves product and original transaction identifiers, purchase dates and refund status, linked to your backup account. We do not receive your payment card details, billing address or Apple ID password.

Encryption. Backup copies are encrypted in transit and at rest by Azure. This is not end-to-end encryption: our authorized service can read stored copies in order to provide backup and recovery.

Operational records. The service keeps counts, error status and timing measurements to keep backup reliable. These records do not contain project content and expire after 14 days. Infrastructure, billing and monitoring records kept by Microsoft follow Microsoft’s applicable retention settings.

Retention and limits. For each project we keep the last five backup generations, plus daily recovery points for seven days and weekly points for four weeks where uploads occurred. No recovery point is created for a period in which nothing was uploaded. Storage limits are 5 MiB per project file, 25 MiB of current project data and 1 GiB of retained copies per account. A deleted copy may remain for up to seven days in Azure soft-deletion storage and counts toward storage use during that time.

What backup does not do. New uploads require an enabled account, an active trial or Full Unlock, a connection and the app running. When the trial expires, uploads pause but existing copies are kept, and recovery, export and deletion stay available. Backup does not synchronize edits between two phones. Only a completed backup shown in the app with its saved position is recoverable; local changes made after that point may be missing from a recovered copy.

Deleting cloud data

The app offers three levels of removal, all under your control:

After an account deletion completes, we keep a minimal opaque deletion record for 30 days so that a late-arriving upload cannot accidentally restore deleted data. It contains no project content. Apple keeps its own App Store purchase records; deleting a Craft Counter cloud account does not delete Apple purchase history and does not restart a trial. A newly linked account starts empty.

Purchases

The free 7-day trial, the one-time Full Unlock and Restore purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. Apple processes your payment; we never receive card numbers or billing details. The app verifies signed Apple transactions on your device to decide what is unlocked. If you enable cloud backup, the same verified purchase status is checked by our service as described above. Your projects and history are never deleted because a trial ends or a purchase is refunded.

No ads, tracking or analytics

Craft Counter contains no advertising, tracking, analytics or AI software development kits, and no third-party iOS SDKs at all. We do not build profiles, and we do not sell or share personal information for advertising. The app makes no network requests for its core operation; the only network use is the optional backup service and Apple’s own systems for purchases, sign-in and speech assets.

Service continuity

Cloud backup is not a promise of permanent storage or uninterrupted service. If we ever plan to close the backup service we intend to give at least 90 days’ notice with a recovery and export window. Counting on your iPhone with an active trial or Full Unlock, reading your history and exporting your projects would remain available.

Children

Craft Counter is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created a cloud backup account, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

You can see, export and delete your data from inside the app without contacting us. If you would like a copy of the cloud data held under your account, a correction, or confirmation that a deletion completed, email us and we will verify the request before acting on it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. We are the controller for the backup service; Microsoft Azure and Apple provide their parts of the flow under their own terms.

This website

This product page does not ask for an email address, collect research answers, accept payments or run advertising analytics. The interactive counter is a design preview: its temporary count resets when the page reloads. Vercel hosts this public website and processes technical request information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect it. We do not set tracking cookies or enable Vercel Web Analytics.

Information shared in the earlier research round

That round is closed to new submissions. Existing emails, answers, descriptions and optional images remain in private storage through Sites, using Cloudflare D1 and R2. They are not transferred to this public website or into the iPhone app. The operator can manage these records; they are not public.

Previous record management remains on the original private research site, subject to its existing access restrictions. If your link or session is unavailable, or you need a correction or removal, email romuald@aiadvisors.pl from the address you originally used. We verify the request before changing a record. Private preview records did not send emails or take payments.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app or the backup service handles your information, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. For changes that matter to you, such as new data sent to the service or a change in retention, the app will also tell you before the change takes effect.
